KITALE DIOCESE FAITHFUL GATHER WITH BISHOP ODONYA FOR LUNCHEON IN KAPENGURIA

The family of the Catholic Diocese of Kitale specifically within the West Pokot Pastoral Area along with friends of the Church, joined Bishop Henry Juma Odonya for a luncheon on October 16, 2026 at St. Charles Lwanga Parish in Kapenguria. The event was part of a fundraising initiative to advance the construction of the St. Joseph’s Pastoral Centre project.

In his address, Bishop Henry Juma Odonya expressed his gratitude to the faithful, priests, religious men and women, friends of the Diocese and all those who continue to contribute their time, effort and resources toward the completion of this center.

The Bishop encouraged the Christians to take pride in being part of the Catholic Diocese of Kitale and to continue collaborating to build up the Diocese in terms of faith, infrastructure and human development.

The Bishop noted that the completion of the St. Joseph’s Pastoral Centre would be of great benefit to the Diocese and the faithful; it will support various pastoral activities while also establishing a foundation for revenue generation to sustain the Church’s ministries in the long term.

Furthermore, the Bishop emphasized that the project represents a long-term investment—one that will endure for many years and serve as a significant legacy for future generations of the faithful within the Catholic Diocese of Kitale.

For his part, Father-in-Charge Peter Nyamache commended the Christians and benefactors, urging them to continue supporting the Diocese and the Bishop in the implementation of diocesan projects. This luncheon was organized specifically to raise funds and support the construction of St. Joseph’s Pastoral Centre. The event was attended by the faithful from parishes within the West Pokot Pastoral Zone, led by the priest in charge of the zone, Father Mathew Rotich. Also in attendance were the priest in charge of the Trans Nzoia Zone, Father Moses Wekesa, along with Fathers Daniel Ng’ang’a, Michael Khisa, James Ndombi, and Abraham Birgen, as well as other priests and religious men and women from the West Pokot region.
