The Catholic Diocese of Kitale celebrated a special Holy Mass on 3rd November, 2026 to pray for priests and religious who have passed away. The Mass was presided over by Bishop Henry Juma Odonya, assisted by Bishop Emeritus Maurice Anthony Crowley at Sirende Parish.

The liturgy brought together priests of the Kitale Diocese, members of religious orders and the families of the deceased priests and religious, to pray that the departed may receive the forgiveness of their sins and eternal rest.

In his reflection, Bishop Emeritus Maurice Crowley reminded the faithful that everyone has their own life journey, and that death is a part of that journey. He encouraged them to live lives that are pleasing to God, while continuing to pray for all those who have gone before us.

For his part, Bishop Henry Juma Odonya emphasized that Jesus Christ is the fullness of God’s revelation and the source of Christian hope. He explained that although death is inevitable for everyone, Christ offers us the hope of resurrection and eternal life.

This Mass is celebrated annually during this month with the intention of praying for priests, religious and all the faithful who have passed away that God may grant them His mercy and that they may rest in eternal peace.
