Bishop Emeritus Maurice Anthony Crowley presided over a Requiem Mass for Sister Hellen Nyangate Mose at St. John the Baptist Parish, Sibanga. In his homily, the Bishop urged the faithful to lead a life of holiness, dedicated to serving both God and the community. Sister Hellen, a member of the ‘Mary Mother of God’ congregation in Mombasa, served as the administrator of the Mary Mother of God Primary School in Mombasa. She passed away this month following a period of illness.

Sister Hellen is remembered as a generous and cheerful person, always eager to help others. Father Peter Nyamache encouraged the congregation to support one another both materially and in other ways during such difficult times.

The service was also attended by the Parish Priest of Sibanga, Father Michael Khisa, Fathers James Njogu, Emmanuel Batei, Daniel Isaboke and Dino Kiboi Cheren; as well as Father Ken Omondi (Vicar for Religious Life) and Vicar General Father Peter Nyamache.

Sister Hellen will be laid to rest at her congregation’s cemetery in Mombasa on the 23rd.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.
