Bishop Henry Juma Odonya Presides Over Funeral Mass of Florence Aleso Ndiwa

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kitale, Henry Juma Odonya, presided over the Funeral Mass of the late Mrs. Florence Aleso Ndiwa, the mother of Fr. Daniel Nakameti, Parish Priest of Christ the King Apostles Parish. The Funeral Mass was held at KoyKoy in Saboti, within Emmanuel Babarton Parish.

Thousands of mourners, including priests, religious men and women, family members, friends, and faithful from different parts of the country, gathered at St. Patrick’s KoyKoy School to console Fr. Daniel Nakameti and his family and to pay their final respects to the late Mrs. Florence Aleso Ndiwa.

In his homily, Bishop Odonya encouraged the faithful to reflect on the journey of human life on earth and the hope of eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven. He emphasized the importance of living lives that are pleasing to God, reminding Christians that earthly life is temporary and that believers should always remain steadfast in faith and good works as they prepare for eternal life.

Mrs. Florence Aleso Ndiwa was born in 1933 and passed away on May 29, 2026, after a short illness. She died at the age of 93. She is survived by seven children, 43 grandchildren, 94 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild.

The Diocese joins Fr. Daniel Nakameti, his family, relatives, and friends in praying for the eternal repose of Mrs. Florence Aleso Ndiwa.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.
