This is a training center for Catechists located in Mitume outskirts of Kitale town. It was officially opened in August 1973. By then, Kitale was still part of the larger Diocese of Eldoret.

Other functions of the center include: Training pastoral agents for the church. Offering  catechesis. Training Parish leaders, Offer short refresher/in-service courses, Offer short residential workshops on topics such as the Bible, leadership, family life, formation of youth, among others. Offer ToT training for different groups/programs, and Serve as a formation centre for various congregations

Since its inception, over 4,000 people have completed the resident catechetical course of 12 to 16 weeks. The center intakes in January and August every year. Trainers at the center comprise of priests, religious sisters and lay persons. Over the years, the Center has attracted catechists from different dioceses in Kenya.
