Catholic Diocese of Kitale celebrated a significant milestone on May 8, 2026, as 62 catechists graduated during the 92nd Catechetical Training Course held at Mitume Catechetical Centre, Christ the King Mitume Parish.
The graduation ceremony and Holy Mass were presided over by Bishop Henry Juma Odonya, who commended the graduates for their dedication and commitment to serving the Church through catechetical ministry.
The graduates included seminarians and religious candidates from Kenya and other countries, representing various religious congregations and institutions. They successfully completed four months of intensive catechetical formation aimed at equipping them for effective evangelization and pastoral service.
In his homily, Bishop Odonya congratulated the graduates for their willingness to answer the call to serve the Church and encouraged them to remain faithful, hardworking, and committed servants in spreading the Gospel.
Speaking during the event, the Director of the training centre, Fr. Jonathan Mwaura, expressed gratitude to all sponsors and organizations that support students studying at the institution. He also pledged continued efforts toward improving and strengthening the centre’s training programs.
