Bishop Henry Juma Odonya administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to seven hundred new faithful at Ortum Parish in the West Pokot Pastoral Area.

In his homily, the Bishop urged those who received the sacrament, as well as all Christians, to embrace and properly utilize the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit while trusting in God in every situation of life.

The Bishop also called upon the faithful to remain steadfast in faith, strengthen their prayer lives and continue to be witnesses of Christ within their families and communities. He reminded them that Confirmation is not the end of the faith journey but a step toward further strengthening their relationship with God and their responsibilities as Christians.

For his part, the Parish Priest, Father Mathew Rotich who also serves as the Administrator of the West Pokot Pastoral Area thanked the catechists for their hard work and dedication in preparing the faithful to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Father Rotich also commended the Christians of Ortum Parish for their cooperation, unity and commitment to various Church activities, encouraging them to continue working together to strengthen the Church’s ministry and mission in the area.
