Bishop Henry Juma Odonya today presided over the annual Holy Mass for the Association of Sisterhoods of Kenya (AOSK), Kitale Chapter. An event that brought together religious sisters from various congregations serving in the Catholic Diocese of Kitale.

This annual diocesan Mass serves to unite religious sisters for prayer, collaboration and drawing closer to God through the Holy Eucharist.

In his homily and address, the Bishop urged the sisters to continue living in unity and love within their communities while faithfully upholding their vocation of consecrated life. He also encouraged them to remain close to the Word of God, emphasizing that religious life must be built upon the foundations of prayer, the Word of God and solidarity.

The Bishop further called for the strengthening of AOSK, noting that the association can flourish and grow stronger if efforts to build it begin at the diocesan level. He emphasized the importance of sisters collaborating, supporting one another and jointly seeking ways to advance their ministry and vocation within the Church and society.

Additionally, following the Mass, the sisters participated in an election to select new leaders for the association at the diocesan level.

This Mass was also attended by Bishop Emeritus Maurice Anthony Crowley, alongside Father Ken Omondi, who oversees the Department of Religious Life in the diocese.

This joint Mass for the AOSK Kitale Chapter takes place annually, serving as a vital platform to unite religious men and women from the various congregations serving in the diocese, enabling them to pray together, share experiences and strengthen their lives of vocation and service to the Church and society.
