Bishop Henry Juma Odonya presided over Holy Mass and the official launch of the church construction project at the St. Henry Makindu Center, part of St. Joseph’s Parish.

The St. Henry Makindu Center is one of the newest centers within St. Joseph’s Parish. It was established on January 2nd of this year, having been carved out of the Birunda Center to facilitate pastoral services and bring the Church closer to the faithful.

In his homily, Bishop Odonya emphasized the importance of steadfast faith in the Christian life, urging the faithful at the center to continue nurturing their faith and to stand firm in their journey of following Christ.

Reflecting on the current month dedicated to the Virgin Mary and today’s celebration of St. Thérèse of the Lisieux also St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus, the Bishop encouraged Christians to emulate their examples of faith, humility, prayer, and trust in God.

For his part, Father Peter Nyamache, the Parish Priest of St. Joseph’s Parish, urged the faithful of the center to cooperate wholeheartedly in bringing the church construction to fruition; he expressed his hope that, through their collaboration and dedication, the building would be completed by this time next year. Earlier this year, during the Easter and Resurrection of the Lord celebrations, the Bishop participated in Holy Mass at the St. Henry Makindu Centre.
